What is Xeomin?
- Posted on: Mar 28 2018
Xeomin is a wrinkle relaxing injection that is made from a form of botulinum toxin type A. Xeomin can be injected into facial muscles just below the skin, where it will work to reduce and even eliminate lines and wrinkles. If you’re looking to reduce and eliminate wrinkles and lines in the face without surgery or invasive procedures, Xeomin might be a good choice for you.
Where Can Xeomin Be Used?
Xeomin can be used in most areas of the face, including:
- The horizontal lines on your forehead
- The vertical lines between your eyebrows
- The crow’s feet at the corners of your eyes
- The smoker’s lines surrounding the lips
Many patients opt to treat 2 or more areas at once, for example the crow’s feet and the lines between the eyebrows.
The Xeomin Treatment Process
The Xeomin treatment process is extremely quick and easy. Since Dr. Lee uses an ultra fine needle to inject the Xeomin, it’s not painful and there is no anesthesia needed. It takes only minutes to inject the Xeomin, and as soon as the injections are complete you can return to your usual routine.
How Does Xeomin Compare to Botox?
Xeomin and Botox are very similar, as both are made from botulinum toxin type A. They both work in the same way, relaxing the muscles. However, Xeomin is different in that it contains no additives, which may make it easier for allergic patients to tolerate. If you’re not sure whether Xeomin or Botox is better for you, Dr. Lee is happy to help you choose the right product for your individual needs.
The Lifespan of Xeomin
Xeomin lasts for around 3-6 months in most patients, although it can be even longer in some cases. You can maintain your youthful appearance with follow-up visits around 2-3 times each year. Call L.A. Vein Center to learn more about the wrinkle fighting power of Xeomin treatment.
